The inspiration

I came of age in the estate that has now become StarBurst Park. Under pressure from the state decay that was crippling Sierra Leone in the late 80s, my parents made the decision to relocate to Ontario, Canada.

In 2019 I returned to my roots where the idea for a sports center started almost immediately. The impetus was a combination of my love for sports, a deficiency of sporting options in the community, and an affinity for my homeland of Makama.

I completed the first multi-purpose facility in June 2020.
